PMI Foam Core
Polymethacrylimide (PMI) foam core is a high-performance foam used primarily in the aerospace, automotive, and marine industries, as well as in the construction of wind turbine blades and other high-strength, lightweight structures.
Lavender offer PMI Foam Core in sheet sizes of 1250 mm x 1250 mm and thicknesses from 2 to 20mm.
Cork
Lavender Composites is distributor of Amorim CORECORK product in Australia. CORECORK is made in Portugal, and is a natural and sustainable core material, compatible with existing sandwich core applications. It is offered in grades with excellent FST (fire, smoke, and toxicity) properties, as well as good mechanical and processing characteristics. It can be processed by hand layup, vacuum bagging and infusion processes and will withstand process temperatures up to 150°C.
CORECORK is light weight, and can be used effectively to build sandwich structures. The unique characteristics of cork based materials, such as low water absorption, fire resistant properties and vibration damping behaviour makes it an excellent sustainable, green core alternative to the industry.
CORECORK comes in thicknesses from 1 mm up to 10 mm.
Honeycomb Core
Lavender Composites offer honeycomb core structures in three categories; aluminium, aramid (Nomex), and polypropylene.
Aluminium Honeycomb Core
This honeycomb provides one of the highest strength/weight ratios of any core material and possesses excellent thermal and electrical conductivity. Our aluminium honeycomb is corrosion and heat resistant, and is available either expanded or non-expanded.

Core thicknesses of between 2 mm and 300 mm are available.
Aramid (Nomex) Honeycomb Core
This product exhibits an extremely high strength/weight ratio and is easy to form. It possesses good chemical, corrosive, shock and fatigue resistance. Additionally, it is electrically & thermally insulating and self-extinguishing. An overexpanded cell core, an excellent material for forming processes, is available as are aerospace and commercial grades.

Core thicknesses of between 2 and 880mm are available.
They come in 1300 mm x 2600 mm sheet sizes and cut into 1300 mm x 1300 mm for easier transport. Different sheet sizes are available upon request.
Polypropylene – PP Honeycomb Core
Polypropylene honeycomb core is a lightweight, strong, and low cost material used in various industries for structural applications. The core is made from polypropylene, a type of thermoplastic polymer, and is formed into a honeycomb-like structure.
PP honeycomb core panels come in thickness of 7 – 25 mm thick.
